I heard this song by indie trio Torches today and loved it instantly. A quick web search tells me the band is from Pasadena, CA and their debut album Heads Full Of Rust was released May 20th. It took a bit more searching to find their website, but drop by for the bands latest news. I’m still not 100% sure the band is just called Torches and not Torches in the Trees, like their twitter name and sound cloud have listed. Their twitter description reads “We are here for the long haul.” I think the answer is yes. -Mizzy

The video for Meant To Be by The Dear Tracks was posted yesterday, May 26th. It is taken from the album The Archer Trilogy:PT.2. If you were to watch this video on mute you’d think it was filled with heavy guitar riffs and loud drum crashes. Simply put, you’d think it was a rock song, but its not. Its more of a electronic ambient tune. Or as the band is described on The Guardian UK, “folktronica.” The male and female duo is from Gävle, Sweden. If your not already familiar with this band, you may want to check out Ram Ram, released in February 2011. My favorite by the band. -Mizzy

Brooklyn’s avant-dance collective returns with this groovy cut from their forthcoming album Fragrant World. If this hazy track had a fragrance I think it would be burning incense. On their last album Yeasayer emulated high-energy disco and EDM, but this single suggests a subtle reggae influence. They definitely chilled out for this one.

Pink light is off the upcoming album, We’ll Be the Moon, by Fixers. They are five lads from Oxford, England. I recently discovered their Soundcloud page and I haven’t been able to stop listening to these tracks. I had a hard time choosing a favorite to post, so be sure to give the other tracks a listen. Their music just makes me want to put on a pair of pointy toed hipster booties and dance the night away. Visit the Fixers site for more upcoming tour dates and news. -Mizzy

I’ve heard some buzz about Zulu Winter recently, but just now got around to giving them a listen. They are a brand new band formed in 2011 in London. I know all my recent posts seem to be British bands. The band consists of Will Daunt (vocals & guitar), Iain Lock (bass), Dom Millard (keyboards), Henry Walton (guitar) and Guy Henderson (drums). Their debut album is set to be released June 19th. I absolutely love the bands website and album cover designs. And as you can hear their music is really great as well. -Mizzy
